LIGHT THE WAY CAMPAIGN

New home. Same heart. Bold Transformation.

“Light the Way” is a campaign that will transform Oil Lamp Theater—growing our audience, expanding our programs, strengthening our foundation, and securing a lasting home in downtown Glenview while staying true to our intimate, community-centered spirit.

We are building a new home for Oil Lamp Theater - a larger, more accessible venue expanding
seating from 60 to 143 guests with better sightlines, comfort and technical capacity. This next stage preserves Oil Lamp Theater’s hallmark intimacy and warmth while launching our productions to new heights with bigger stories and bolder possibilities.

Why it matters

Live theater gathers us in one room to laugh, feel, and talk with one another.
It sparks imagination and empathy, invites fresh perspective, and creates a welcoming place to
reconnect – show after show.

What Light the Way makes possible

  • Elevated productions and special events

  • Education and engagement for all ages (classes, workshops, talkbacks, and youth/family
    performances)

  •  A civic gathering place that energizes downtown and supports local businesses.

Letters of Support

"Oil Lamp Theater has been a cornerstone of the Glenview community for the past 13 years, enriching our downtown both culturally and economically. Its impact extends well beyond the stage—by drawing theatergoers to downtown Glenview, it helps support local restaurants and small businesses, contributing to the overall vibrancy of our community. Supporting the arts in this way is more than a cultural investment; it’s a commitment to the continued growth and vitality of Glenview. That’s why I was proud to award capital grant funds to help Oil Lamp Theater expand its reach and solidify its lasting presence in our community""

- State Senator Laura Fine
